On the front page of the Web site for Manassas Public Schools last week there was a message directed to Comcast Cable Subscribers. The message was to inform those visiting the site that the public schools had been unable to gain a connection to Cable Channel 18 to post an emergency announcement on Feb. 13. It went on to say that Manassas Public Schools are considering other cable options in order to better serve the community.
I think this message tells us all we need to know about how successfully Comcast is providing quality service to our community. The lack of reliability, even for emergency messages to the public, is just inexcusable.
I use ComTec broadband for internet reliability and we recently acquired a satellite dish so I am able to work from home without outages. My family now watches a large variety of television shows without constant disturbance.
I see the results of Comcast damage through my neighborhood as they dig up yards and then leave ditches open for weeks, creating a hazard for families. We fought a many months long battle with Comcast trying to get reliable service and finally won — by switching to broadband and satellite.
