Residents and visitors are invited to bring their children to the Super Egg Hunt on Saturday in Dumfries.

About 8,000 eggs will be left throughout Merchant Park at the corner of Duke and Cameron streets in Dumfries and the hunt for them starts at 11 a.m.

"Come out and join the town of Dumfries and the Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad as we welcome spring," said Cathy Lambe, Dumfries director of community services.

Children are encouraged to bring along their Easter baskets. Parents are encouraged to bring along their cameras for the Easter Bunny who will be in attendance.

There also will be animals from the Old Mine Ranch Traveling Petting Zoo for the children to see.

The event is free and will be held rain or shine. The egg hunt is open to all children ages 1 to 12.
