»  Comments | Post a Comment

A section of Centreville Road was closed for a little over an hour Wednesday afternoon as construction crews worked to repair a gas leak, Manassas police said.

At around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday a construction crew working near the intersection of Centreville Road and Weir place dug too deep and hit a buried gas line, Manassas City police spokesman Sgt. Tim Neumann said.

Centreville Road was closed from Liberia Avenue to Sudley Road as crews worked to repair the leak.

By 1 p.m., the line was capped.

Police expected to reopen the road shortly after 1 p.m., Neumann said.
