Will someone put a stop to the speeding?

»  Comments | Post a Comment

What in the world has gotten into the people who, on a daily basis, speed up and down residential streets? Not a day goes by that we don’t have cars, SUVs, school buses, garbage trucks, delivery trucks and service trucks speeding on Nassau Drive.

Living on a street that has an enhanced fine for speeding ($200 additional fine for speeding) obviously means nothing to these people. I know that the police can’t be everywhere at the same time, but if residents continually call the traffic complaint line, you would think that once in a while they would monitor these streets and give out some tickets.

Putting the speed trailer on a street is a temporary fix since people only slow down when it’s there. Maybe Prince William County should consider installing speed bumps on streets where there are major speeding complaints.
