A Prince William County resident is among six men who used a computer to solicit sex from a child, according to Fairfax police.
A seventh man faces federal charges in the attempted enticement of a minor, police said.
Colin Fitzgerald, 25, of 4385 Ashgrove Drive in Montclair, was arrested Wednesday and charged with use of a communication system to solicit sex from a minor and carnal knowledge of a minor.
Since December, detectives from the Child Exploitation, Sexual Predator Enforcement and Apprehension Detail and Juvenile Fugitive Sections have conducted an investigation of solicitation of children over the Internet. The investigation began after a mother saw solicitation for sex on her 14-year-old son's home computer, police said.
All the men have been charged with making sexually explicit comments in an online "chat."
John Fleck, 23, of 5478 Midship Court in Burke, was arrested on Jan. 9. He was charged with use of a communica-tion system to solicit sex from a minor and indecent liberties with a minor, police said.
Justin Ayers, 27, of 1127 Marion Ave., in McLean, was arrested on Feb. 2. He was charged with use of a communi-cation system to solicit sex from a minor and attempted indecent liberties with a minor, police said.
Broy Klein, 26, of 1673 Cedar Hollow Way in Reston, was arrested March 6. He was charged with two counts of use of a communication system to solicit sex from a minor, attempted indecent liberties with a minor and carnal knowledge of a minor.
Gregory Holder, 45, of 6100 Essex House Square, Apt. A in the Alexandria area, was arrested March 19. He was charged with use of a communication system to solicit sex from a minor and carnal knowledge of a minor.
Thomas Minnehan, 21, of 7523 Fairwood Lane in the Falls Church area, was arrested March 30. He was charged with use of a communication system to solicit sex from a minor and carnal knowledge of a minor.
Eric Mintzer, 27, of 8016 Pohick Road in Springfield, was charged by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. He pleaded guilty to enticement of a minor on April 7 in Washington.
