A public cleanup workday has been scheduled for Saturday at Silver Lake — and the PWC Trails and Stream Coalition needs your help.
In conjunction with the Nokesville Horse Society and the Prince William County Park Authority, the coalition is seeking volunteers to prepare the park for its grand opening in October when the property will be available for trail use, bank fishing, picnicking and more. Volunteers will help remove litter and debris and help re-establish trails.
Volunteers will work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; they are asked to bring work gloves and hand/garden tools and to wear long pants.
To volunteer, contact call Zoe Vitter, president of PWTS, at 703-785-5785 or send an e-mail to pwctrails@gmail.com.
Silver Lake is a 233-acre parcel located northwest of Haymarket, accessible off Antioch Road, past the Gainesville Volunteer Fire Department. The property adjoins Dominion Valley to the east.
