BULL RUN MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT APPEARED IN VIRGINIA STATE PAGEANT
Kalle Wardlow, a Piedmont resident and a 7th grader at Bull Run Middle School appeared in the National American Miss Virginia 2009 State Pageant as a representative of the state Virginia. National American Miss Pageant is dedicated to encouraging future leaders. The pageant program is based on inner beauty as well as poise and presentation. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning about good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals.
The event took place in July at the Reston Hyatt hotel. Kalle competed against pre teen girls from all over the state of Virginia ranging from ages 10-13. Scoring was based on 10 percent Community Service Project, 30 percent on communication skills in a Personal Interview, 30 percent on a Personal Introduction and 30 percent on Formal Wear Poise and Appearance. Kalle was awarded the honor of being in the top 10 for the entire state of Virginia. Kalles sponsors included her proud parents, Michael and Jennifer Wardlow, Arthurs Court Pet Boutique and Pet Sitting Services located in Haymarket, LaScalas Cakes located in Leesburg, as well as friends and family.
