Want to help plan some fun for Nokesville? Friends Uniting Nokesville is a nonprofit corporation formed two years ago with a mission to promote events and activities that strengthen the Nokes-ville community. FUN hosts the Nokesville Farmers Market and more.

Elementary schools' open houses posted
In preparation for the school year, many Prince William County Public Schools have already scheduled orientations, open houses and meet-and-greets.

Dance from autumn through spring
Get some exercise and learn to dance this season. The Prince William Dance Academy will hold open house registrations for students interested in enrolling for the 2009-10 dance season.
Open houses will be held Tuesday, Thursday and Sept. 9. All open houses are from 4 to 8 p.m. Mail-in registrations are also being accepted.

Victory PTO plans for the year and needs your help
Victory Elementary School's PTO has been working hard this summer, and their growing calendar shows it.
On Sept. 3, bring your packed picnic baskets, blankets and chairs for a Back-to-School Picnic from 3 to 5 p.m. Let your children eat, play on the playground and enjoy a game of kick ball after meeting their teachers and classmates.
On the first day of school, Sept. 8, 9 to 10 a.m., cry away the summer at a "Boo-Hoo" breakfast in the cafeteria.
