Dale City Boy Scout Troop 1390 will celebrate its 35th anniversary on Sept. 27 at Prince William Forest Park. All former Scouts and adults from Troop 1390 are invited to attend.

Forest Park to celebrate its heritage
Prince William Forest Park Celebrates its heritage at a festival in September.
On Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the park will celebrate its history as a colonial era farmland, a Civilian Conservation Corps Work Camp and a World War II-era spy training camp. Musicians, artists, cultural demonstrators, antique car owners, exhibitors and park staff will gather together in historic Cabin Camp 3 for a day of historic and inexpensive family fun.

Musical acts will include the Quantico Party Band, the Hokum Jazz Band and the Fall Line Bluegrass Band. Together, these bands will play music from the 19th and 20th century.
Colonial life demos such as blacksmithing, spinning, hearth and outdoor cooking, dancing and farming life demos will echo the once-rural farmscape that was Prince William Forest Park in the 18th century. Colonial demos will be provided by volunteers from the George Washington Birthplace National Monument 4-H Club and Historic Dum-fries Inc.
