Transportation options for older adults will be discussed at a town hall meeting hosted by Supervisor Frank Principi on Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Woodbridge Senior Center. Joining him will be representatives from the Area Agency on Aging, the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC), taxi companies and the faith community. Senior citizens, caregivers and family members are encouraged to attend.
It is predicted that older adults will represent more than 20 percent of Prince William County population by the year 2010. We know that as individuals grow older, physical limitations often restrict or eliminate their ability to drive. Getting to and from doctor appointments, shopping and socialization activities is critical if they are to remain inde-pendent.
The Senior Transportation Town Hall meeting will bring stakeholders together to identify ways to maximize avail-able services, pinpoint gaps in service, and seek viable solutions.
The Woodbridge Senior Center is located at 13850 Church Hill Drive, Woodbridge. Please RSVP by calling 703-494-5903 or contact Principi's office at 703-792-4646.

Attention singers!
The Woodbridge Community Choir is starting rehearsals for its 43rd season of Christmas music on Monday. The choir has provided free concerts for the Woodbridge-Prince William community since 1966.
This year, the Christmas concert will be dedicated to the memory of Lillian Gaskill, who had the vision to bring together church choirs in Woodbridge to provide a concert free to the public. Little did she realize how successful this idea would be!
Rehearsals take place at Lutheran Church of the Covenant, 15008 Cloverdale Road, Dale City. Registration begins at 7 p.m. and rehearsal starts at 7:30. No auditions are required.
The registration fee is $30, but if you take a new member you can receive a $10 discount -- up to $30.
The choir will again be joining with the Prince William Community Band for a rollicking start to the Christmas season. Concert dates are Dec. 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. For more information see www.woodbridgecommunitychoir.org
The book discussion group Woodbridge Page Turners will meet on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in room 4, Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
The current selection is "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. The novel is a series of letters from residents of the Channel Islands during the German occupation to a journalist who becomes their friend. It is a delightful and humorous read.
New members and guests are welcome. Cokesbury UMC is located at 14806 Blackburn Road.
