Prince William police reported the following incidents:
Bristow
* Someone attempted to steal a silver-colored 2004 Dodge Intrepid sedan in front of a residence on the 10000 block of Pouring Rain Place between 6 p.m. Aug. 23 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 24.
Dale City
* Someone broke into a home in the 6000 block of Ticket Way between 10:30 a.m. Aug. 21 and 9 a.m. Aug. 22 and took jewelry valued at $1,000. There were no signs of forced entry.
* A home in the 14000 block of Silverdale was burglarized between 4:45 and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The burglar took a safe containing papers and got into the house by forcing a sliding glass door.
* A man was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession of ecstasy and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officer B.A. Owen stopped 20-year-old D'Ante R. Nichols of 5787 Rock Cliff Lane during a traffic check on Dale Boulevard about midnight on Aug. 22 and found the drugs.
Nichols was held on an $8,000 bond. His court date was not released.
Woodbridge
* A 1994 4-door Nissan Altima was stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Colchester Road between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22. The ignition was faulty, allowing it to be started without a key.
The car was also left unlocked. The car was valued at $2,500.
* A 1997 Honda Accord coupe was stolen from a business parking lot in the 13900 block of U.S. 1 between 11 p.m. Aug. 22 and 3 a.m. Aug. 23. The car was valued at $4,550.
* A black 1997 Honda Civic coupe was stolen from a business parking lot in the 13900 block of U.S. 1 between 11 p.m. Aug. 22 and 3 a.m. Aug. 23.
