A Centreville man faces charges after a crash that sent him and a 60-year-old Woodbridge woman to the hospital with serious injuries Wednesday.

The crash happened about 3:15 p.m., when a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Jose Martin Sanchez, 47, collided with a 2003 Toyota Camry, driven by the Woodbridge woman.

While attempting to make a left turn from Ridgefield Road onto Delaney Road, Sanchez struck the oncoming car, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Both Sanchez and the woman were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

A fire and rescue spokesman described the crash as serious, saying both victims had to be cut from the wreckage.

Both victims remained in the hospital Thursday.

Sanchez is charged with failure to yield the right of way and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.
