The Park Authority will hold a public hearing to gather input on the design for Nokesville’s Rollins Ford Park or, as it is better known, the WIITA Tract. The hearing will be held during the Park Authority Board meeting which begins at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 at the Park Authority Administration Building.
The Park Authority has developed three designs for the park, all of which feature an artificial turf soccer field with surrounding bleachers, additional grass soccer fields and walking trails. Where the designs differ is on the number of extra soccer fields, which range from three to six. The designs with fewer fields leave more area for green space – for picnics, pick up Frisbee games or flying a kite. The area is former farmland that is now open field.
The WIITA Tract is currently empty land that was given as a proffer to Prince William County in 2006. The Park Authority received the property, which is approximately 70 acres, on June 12, 2009.
The PWC Park Authority Administration Building is located at 14420 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA., 20112. The meeting will be held in the boardroom.
