Henderson Elementary school's newly formed Robotics Team has made their way to the First Lego League VA State Robotics tournament. The Henderson team is comprised of 10 4th graders. They were each picked to be on the team based on a list of questions they had to answer in an application. They worked very hard after school for 5 weeks to compete in the regionals during the weekend of Nov 7th. and won the Champions Award for impressing the judges the most in all 4 judging categories (Reserach, Teamwok, Robot Design & Robot Perfeormance) Based on their total scores they advanced to the First Lego League VA State Robotics competition which took place Dec. 4-6 in Harrisonburg VA at JMU. We are very proud of the kids and all their hard work and determination. It really paid off. Miss Martin,first grade teacher, coached the team and Ms. Kendrick, START teacher, is the team mentor.
