Prince William Little Theater brings 'Pippin' to life

Now in its 24th season, Prince William Little Theatre will bring the Stephen Schwartz musical "Pippin" to life in Manassas for two weekends, beginning Feb. 13.

The show, which ran on Broadway for five years, featured Ben Vereen, John Rubenstein, Jill Clayburgh and Irene Ryan. It is a musical fable about Charlemagne's son Pippin and his quest for fulfillment.

Memorable songs include "Magic To Do," "No Time at All," "Morning Glow" and "Glory."

Composer Schwartz also wrote the music for such hits as "Godspell" and "Wicked."

Director Adrienne Showker and music director Milton Rodgers have assembled this production, featuring a large cast and orchestra.

Among the actors are Lanny Henzell as Leading Player, Josh Daniels as Pippin, Mike Stirling as Charles, Valerie Chamness as Fastrada, Kris Griffith as Lewis, Susy Moorstein as Berthe, and Meredith Ford as Catherine.

Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3:30 p.m., Feb. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at Stonewall Jackson High School,

8820 Rixlew Lane Manassas.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 student/senior/military, and $6 for ages 6 to 12.

The theater's next production, the comedy "Noises Off" and directed by Zina Bleck, will conduct open auditions on Feb. 15 and 16. It will be performed April 24 through May 9 in Manassas.
