Those who were thinking about driving, carpooling or taking a bus into Washington for the Inauguration will have to think again.
Arlington County is telling its residents that the bridges that connect the District to Virginia will be closed Jan. 20th.
The 14th Street Bridge, Memorial Bridge, Key Bridge, and the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge will be closed.
The Chain Bridge has not yet been closed, but officials have reportedly said the massive volume that would use the bridge Inauguration Day would force its closure.
Some have suggested walking across the bridges, which for now is still allowed. However, Arlington still plans to enforce regular weekday parking restrictions for those who plan to drive and park there.
But pedestrians are also reminded that bicycles are also banned from any Inaugural celebration, according to the U.S. Secret Service.
Officials have also warned about restrictions further out on Virginia highways.
Motorists using Interstates 66 and 395 should expect limited or no access to those roads inside the Beltway, officials said.
InsideNoVA.com has contacted area transit agencies to find out how the recent announcement will affect their Inaugural Day operations.
The U.S. Secret Service has banned the following items from all Inaugural celebrations:
