Alexandria, VA (01/16/2009) The Fairfax County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is hosting a genealogy program, open to the public in celebration of Black History Month. The event will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2008 at the Kingstowne Library, 6500 Landsdowne Centre Alexandria, VA 22312 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to provide local residents, middle and high school students with the tools necessary to research their family ancestry. This event will also provide an opportunity for participants to meet Paula Royster, President and CEO of the Center for African-American Genealogical Research, www.caagri.org, as well as to learn more about African American history.
