The woman charged with killing her 13-year-old daughter is expected to enter a plea in Prince William Circuit Court Monday.

Alfreedia Leona Gregg-Glover, 44, is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, felony child abuse and filing a false police report in the January death of her adopted daughter, Alexis “Lexie” Glover.

Gregg-Glover was scheduled to stand trial before a jury starting Monday, but is now scheduled to enter a plea to the charges instead.

It was unclear Thursday what the plea agreement entails. Calls to county Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul Ebert were not returned.

Lexie Glover’s death sparked an outcry in the community after it was revealed that police and social services had received several reports that the girl was neglected and abused.

In the aftermath of her death, a Prince William social worker was fired and two more were disciplined. In addition, a state investigation into county social services revealed low morale and inadequate staffing in the department.

Gregg-Glover reported Lexie missing from Central Library in Manassas on Jan. 7, sparking a massive search for the girl. Her adoptive mother appeared on television, pleading for information on the girl’s whereabouts.

Lexie’s body was found Jan. 9 in a shallow creek near the McCoart Administration building in Woodbridge.

Prosecutors allege that Gregg-Glover put the girl in the creek while she was still alive and before she reported her missing.

According to a medical examiner’s report, Lexie died of drowning and exposure to the cold.

Gregg-Glover is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.
