The Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce has a new slate of officers.
Past Chamber Chairman Sen. Charles J. Colgan, D-Manassas, installed the 2009-10 executive committee and board of directors at the chamber’s 74th annual Dinner Dance on Saturday at the City Place Inc. in Manassas.
The new executive committee consists of Chairman of the Board Molly Grove, George Mason University, Prince William Campus; Chairman-elect Lucy Beauchamp, Potomac Science Center; Vice Chairman of Events William White, Synergy One Federal Credit Union; Vice Chairman of Programs Rob Cavaleri, AFLAX; Vice Chairman of Government Relations Jonathan Arehart, Cavendo Corporation; Vice Chairman of Membership Development Gale Goodwin, Metlife Home Loans; Vice Chairman of Communications Sheri Winesett, ActionCOACH Business Coaching; Vice Chairman of Community Development, Regina Jessop, DuvallWheeler; Secretary-Treasurer Debbie Bennett, Bennett, Atkinson & Associates; Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Barbara Hopkins, Ealy Hopkins & Associates and Liberty Tax Service; Immediate Past Chairman of the Board Stephen Nelson, Junction Travel, Inc. and President Debbie Jones.

The theme of the event was “A Night at the Opera.” The audience was entertained by selections from the popular musical “The Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber performed by Jean Kellogg, executive director of the Hylton Performing Arts Center, under construction at the Prince William Campus of George Mason University and Richard Novak, co-artistic director of Opera Workshop and assistant professor of voice at the university.
Kathy Ellington, executive director of Leadership Prince William, said “What a great party you threw! Kudos for the staff — you all worked so hard and it really showed.”

In her acceptance speech incoming chairman Grove promised a fun year topped off with a “Chamber’s Got Talent”’ amateur talent show. She promised to convene a bi-annual meeting of an advisory board comprised of past chamber chairman. She also vowed to continue the astronomical growth that the chamber experience in the past year while still maintaining the retention rate. Lastly, she promised to offer some seminars about the value of bartering services for business.
