Lane Ranger: Some can't see lane markings

It is hard to see markings that indicate the proper path of the turn lanes.

Dear Lane Ranger:

When making a right turn from Benita Fitzgerald Drive onto Dale Boulevard in Dale City, there are two lanes for the right turn. But when I am making the turn, it is hard to see markings that indicate the proper path of the turn lanes.

Cars turning in the far right lane frequently incorrectly turn into the far right lane on Dale Boulevard, dan-gerously crossing into my car's path.

What can be done about this?

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ella Beagle

Dale City

Ella,

I took your question to Jennifer McCord at the Virginia Department of Transportation, and she said crews will be in that are soon to repaint markings on the road to help you turn a little easier.

McCord called the new markings "puppy tracks," which are shorter pavement markings that are closer together.

"These should make the movement clearer and provide better guidance through the intersec-tion," said McCord.
