On Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., the Bull Run Women's Connection will hold a brunch with a program, "Making Plans for the Summer," at Stonewall Golf Club.
The event will feature Jennifer Hoskins of the Buckland Preservation Society. Hoskins will share "Secrets in our Own Back Yard."
Speaker Nancy O'Meara, shopping center manager, will discuss a time when she experienced "A Change in Plans."
Nancy Cronauer will provide inspirational music.

Golf association seeks charity event sponsors
Tournament Golf Association of America and the Ercole Comini charity for Multiple Myeloma cancer research will hold its annual golf tournament Aug. 31 at Gainesville's Virginia Oaks Golf Course. The event will begin at 1 p.m.
The format for the tournament will be a four-person scramble. The $150 per player fee includes greens fee, cart, beverages, lunch and dinner, silent auction and skill games.

Participants can win prizes and trophies for closest-to-the-pin on all par 3's and longest drive. Prizes will also be awarded at a putting contest and a $10,000 hole-in-one competition.
Since 1998, more than $75,000 has been raised for local and regional charities through direct donations from TGAA members, friends and relatives as well as through charity golf events.
Rotary members honored
The Gainesville-Haymarket Rotary Club held its annual leadership transition and awards dinner with more than 60 members and guests including Chuck Davidson, District 7610 governor, and Travis White, past and present District 7610 foundation chairman.
Among the honorees were Marilyn Karp, awarded the Distinguished Service Award for her leadership on the Hay-market Earth Day project. Jennifer Robinson was honored with the Service Above Self award for volunteerism and leadership of the Rotary Community Corps, where she served as its president.
Linda Marlow was awarded the Rotarian of the Year for her efforts growing the club's membership by 10 new members in 2008-09, as well as her vision and execution of a multi-organization effort to update the Turning Points shelter in Manassas.
Dennis Fargo was honored twice during the evening, once as he was inducted into the Paul Harris Society for his contributions to the Rotary Foundation, and a second time as he received the Past President Gavel for his service as the 2008-09 president. Charlie Mills was inducted as the 2009-10 president. Board members were also inducted.
