O'Meara out in WJFK format change

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Mike O'Meara, the former owner of O'Meara's in Old Town Manassas and longtime Washing-ton radio talk show host, will be replaced on WJFK-FM (106.7), according to online reports.

O'Meara was the co-host of the "Don & Mike" syndicated radio show and more recently hosted the "Mike O'Meara Show" on WJFK-FM.

The station will change Monday to an all-sports talk format, leaving O'Meara without a job, although some other on-air personnel will remain at WJFK-FM.

Former Washington Redskins linebacker LeVar Arrington will co-host one of the shows, according to published reports.

O'Meara was with the station for roughly 20 years.

O'Meara closed his restaurant on Center Street in 2008, owing roughly $26,000 in fines to the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The restaurant recently sold and will open soon as the Center Street Grill.
