Perhaps this is why would-be burglars don’t usually use the front door.

Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, three men tried to force their way into a town house in the 11100 block of Stagestone Way, Prince William County police said.

But they tried to use the front door, and a 26-year-old man who lives there held the door shut, police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez said.

Officers J. Robertson and M.A. Depatie responded shortly thereafter and found three men walking away from the scene.

Arrested were Bradley Scott Olson, 33, of 6226 Aspen Way in Bealeton; Joseph Howard Miller, 22, of 6102 Occoquan Forest Drive near Manassas; and 27-year-old Jonathan Patrick Hurd.

All three were charged with attempted statutory burglary, Hernandez said. Olson also was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and carrying a concealed weapon.

The men were held without bond. They’re due in court Aug. 5.

The 26-year-old town house resident and his 25-year-old wife were not injured, Hernandez said.
