A Woodbridge man who police say was involved in a robbery last week has been arrested.
Police charged 18-year-old Aaron Jamal Dass of 12836 Tumbling Brook Lane in Woodbridge in connection with the crime.
Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez said a 16-year-old boy was involved in an argument with two girls during the day on Thursday.
Later that day one of the girls told a family member about the argument, and that family member rounded up a group of people to confront the 16-year-old.
Dass was apart of that group, said Hernandez.
During the confrontation, Dass fired a gun but didn't hurt anyone, said Hernandez.
But the gunshots did get the attention of police. A search perimeter was set up and officers fanned out to look for the person who fired the shots.
Police talked with two of the people who were in the group who confronted the 16-year-old, who identified Dass as the gunman, said Hernandez.
Dass was later found at his home and was arrested.
As police continued to investigate, they also charged Dass with firing shot outside an apartment complex on Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge earlier that same day.
In that case a 29-year-old man said someone walked up to him outside of the apartment complex just after midnight, pointed a gun at him and demanded money.
The victim told Dass that he didn't have any money and also yelled that he was being robbed. His uncle opened the door to his apartment to help, said Hernandez.
When the door opened Hernandez said Dass fired a shot into a glass door, but no one was injured.
Dass was held without bond and charged with attempted armed robbery, shooting into an occupied dwelling, attempted malicious wounding and reckless handing of a firearm.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.
