Police in Manassas say they had to use their stun guns on a naked man who broke into a city home early Tuesday.
Officers were called to the 8900 block of Sweetbriar Street “in reference to a naked man who had broken into the victim’s house and was screaming and yelling,” city police Sgt. Tim Neumann said Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they found the man on the back porch, still sans clothing and yelling obscenities.
The man refused to comply with officers’ commands and “had to be tased,” Neumann said.
Zachary Catlin, 22, of 17551 Wayside Drive in Dumfries, was then taken into custody and charged with public drunkenness, burglary, indecent exposure and resisting arrest, Neumann said.
Police say it all started about 4:10 a.m., when a 20-year-old man sleeping on a living room couch was awakened by a naked man standing over him yelling. The victim yelled at the man to leave several times, but he refused. The shouting roused other people living in the house, who called police.
When the naked man went out onto the back porch, the victim closed and locked the sliding glass door.
Catlin is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail. A court date is set for Sept. 8.
