A Manassas man was charged with unlawful entry after police officers found him hiding inside an area store Friday morning.
Joseph Anthony Hamlett, 47, of 9732 Beech Place, was allegedly found inside the Party Co. store at 10336 Portsmouth Road near Manassas, about 9 a.m. The man entered the storage area while the store was still open the night before and stayed the night, police said.
The store manager called the police the next morning to alert them someone was inside the store. When officers arrived they found the man hiding in a storage area, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
Hamlett was charged with unlawful entry. Nothing was stolen from the store.
Hamlett was held on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3.

Lake Ridge
A woman’s window was shattered by a BB in the 12000 block of Winona Drive about 4 a.m. Sunday.
Police responded to the home after the home alarm sounded. The home owner told police she woke up when she heard the alarm.
She went to the lower level of her home to investigate and found the broken window. No one was injured.
Manassas Park
License plates from a 2005 Chrysler were stolen from a home in the 8200 block of Whitepine Drive Monday, between 3 and 7:30 p.m.
The license plate registration on the tags is Virginia KEH-2823.
