Montclair residents and their guests are invited to Dolphin Beach on Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m. to celebrate Montclair Day 2009.
The Montclair Day celebration begins at 2 p.m. with amusement rides for the kids, along with carnival games. In the entertainment tent, enjoy the Blue Sky Puppet Show from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., a performance by All That & Jazz Group from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Sprockit Stage Show from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and live music from 7 to 10 p.m. by The Real Geniuses.
Hot food, snacks and beverages will be available from 2 to 9 p.m. or until sold out. Tickets, sold two for $1.50, are needed to purchase all food and beverages and for admission to rides and carnival games. Attendees will need to present a 2009-10 MPOA recreation tag, which is available at the MPOA building Monday through Friday, for admission to Montclair Day.
Residents are allowed to bring two guests per lot to this event. No pets, bikes, skateboards, roller blades or scooters are allowed.
Celebrate National trails
at PW Forest Park
Celebrate National Trails Day at Prince William Forest Park on Saturday.
Volunteers are needed to help restore the popular Laurel Loop Trail alongside members of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. No prior trail maintenance experience is necessary and training and tools are provided.
Volunteers should dress for the weather and bring water, leather gloves, eye protection and a bag lunch.
On-site registration is from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Pine Grove Picnic Area Parking Lot. The event will take place from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

National Trails Day is held each year to inspire public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to discover, experience and celebrate their favorite trails while participating in trail work projects.

The fun game of the week for the MLGA ladies was a flag tournament. Each player is given a small flag with her name and the number of strokes equaling par plus her handicap. When she reaches her quota of strokes (playing extra strokes if necessary) she plants the flag. The winner is the player who plants her flag the farthest around the course. The overall winner was Carol Payne. The "A" Flight winners were: Nancy Huff, first; Kim Damico, second; "B" Flight winners were: Teresa Wilks, first; Dottie Whibley, second; "C" Flight winners were: Mary Moran, first; and Linda Wince, second; and "D" Flight winners were Sally DiMiero; first and Kay Bolo, second.
