LETTER: Good Democrat choices in Nov.

»  Comments | Post a Comment

There they go again! Those wily Democrats have gone and put extremely talented, progressive candidates who care about people on the upcoming November 3 ballot. Why? Because one look into the
economic abyss the Republicans left behind convinces most people that the “change’ they voted for in the presidential election needs to be completed in Richmond.

The “change” needs to continue with the governor’s race where the Warner/Kaine commonsense approach will be followed by Creigh Deeds. Deeds’ amazing primary campaign highlighted what it means
to do the most with scarce dollars. Jody Wagner running for lieutenant governor has eight years of top financial management experience working with both Warner and Kaine. One can sense that neither
Deeds nor Wagner will send $125 million of our tax dollars to other states as the myopic Republicans did. Those federal tax dollars could have helped unemployed Virginians dealing with the hard times of
the Republican economic abyss.

Of critical importance to completing the “change” is removing Republican control of the House of Delegates. The Republican financial extremists in the General Assembly can no longer be allowed to pay
more attention to their special interest groups than to the needs of people in distress. Prince William voters have the opportunity to vote for John Bell in the 13th District, Jeanette Rishell in the 50th, Paul
Nichols in the 51st, and Luke Torian in the 52nd.
