WASHINGTON (AP) — Funeral services are scheduled for three people killed in a June 22 Metro train crash.
A service for Washington residents Maj. Gen. David Wherley Jr. and his 62-year-old wife, Ann, will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Arlington National Cemetery.
The 62-year-old Wherley was a retired commanding general of the D.C. National Guard. Ann Wherley worked as a mortgage broker.
Meanwhile, a 9 a.m. viewing will be followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Tuesday at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Capitol Heights, Md., for LaVonda "Nikki" King.
King, who had recently opened a hair salon, was on her way to pick up her 3-year-old and 2-year-old sons from daycare when the train crash occurred. The 23-year-old was a Washington native.
