Help raise funds for Va. Tech's all-student EMT
The General Federation of Women's Clubs Virginia, has pledged $175,000 to purchase a fully equipped advanced life support ambulance for the all-student EMT unit of Virginia Tech.
Towards this effort, the Bel Air Women's Club of the Lake Ridge/Dale City/Montclair and Mid-County area, and a member of GFWC Virginia, will hold a fundraising effort in conjunction with Uno Chicago Grill on the Prince William Parkway every Thursday evening in May. Meals purchased on those dates will realize approximately 20 percent donated to the club for the ambulance purchase. Eligible vouchers may be obtained from the club by e-mailing kaattreed@comcast.net or calling 703-670-4520.

n You can learn how to make your own beaded necklace at the jewelry-making workshop on Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. This is a free program for adults and all materials will be provided. Register soon for this program as seats are limited.
n The library's last Super Stories for May is a story hour with stories and songs about firefighters and fire safety and a special visit by the firefighters with their fire vehicles, on May 13 at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3 to 6 and their caregivers. This is a free drop-in program.
n Families with children of all ages are invited to attend the library's family craft program May 14 at 7 p.m., when children and their families create a cheery sunflower windsock. This is a free, drop-in program.
n The Library presents smooth jazz group Project Natale on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. Project Natale delivers a mature style of jazz music to its audiences in a mix of traditional jazz and some of the duo's original compositions.
