Dear Lane Ranger:
On April 23 there was a “your speed” set up on Bacon Race Road in the Woodbridge area, just north of Wellsley Road.
It was facing the outgoing traffic going toward Davis Ford Road. It is signed on the unit for 25 mph. The only speed sign on Bacon Race is when one enters from Davis Ford Road and the signage is 35 mph.
There is no other signage on Bacon Race Road.
So is the speed 25 or 35 mph?

Niki,
If you are traveling 35 mph, then you are following the speed limit.
The first stretch of Bacon Race Road, from Davis Ford Road to Wellsley Road, has a speed limit posted at 35 mph in either direction, stated Virginia Department of Transportation spokesman Mike Salmon.
Salmon said the VDOT typically places just one speed limit warning sign in a closed community, and that sign is usually placed where drivers can see it as they enter the neighborhood.
