Prince William County police are investigating the reported abduction of a 17-year-old girl near Chinn Park Regional Library.
The 17-year-old told police she was walking home from a shopping center in the area of Prince William Parkway and Chinn Center Drive around 6 p.m. Monday.
She said she spotted a bicycle on the ground behind the library, at 13065 Chinn Park Drive, and went to check it out.
She reported that a man approached her there, said he was a police officer and that he was going to arrest her, said Prince William police 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn.
The girl then told police the man grabbed her and choked her until she lost consciousness.
The girl told police she then woke up a short time later and the bike was gone.
The girl said she again started to walk home, and was picked up on the side of the Prince William Parkway by another teenage girl who saw her crying.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and released with minor injures to her neck, said Chinn.
The man was described as black, with a dark complexion, about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall.
She said he had open wounds on his left arm.
He reported he had a thin build, short hair, a mustache and chin hair that didn’t quiet amount to a goatee.
She also said the man was wearing a blue sweatshirt with some kind of company logo on the front, and dark blue jeans.
The bike was described as a red Mongoose with a partially torn seat. The word Mongoose was printed in white on the side of the bike, said Chinn.
Police are interested in talking with anyone who might have been near the Chinn Center on Monday between 6:30 and 7 p.m.
