USA Taekwondo recently selected Dennis (Min) Kim of U.S. Tigers Taekwondo to join head coaches Juan Moreno and Jean Lopez in training the National Team.
Hoping to build upon the team's recent international success, USA Taekwondo added six new assistant coaches, including Kim, to address expanding needs in match coaching, scouting and coaching education.
Kim currently trains U.S. Tigers' Sparring Elite Team in Ashburn and Gainesville/Haymarket.
Known as Master Dennis to his students, he has produced many regional and national champions.
Among Kim's S.E.T. members is Adrienne Ivey, who at 14 is the youngest member of the USA Junior National Team. For years now, Northern Virginia has been a hotbed for young taekwondo talent, and schools like Kim's U.S. Tigers trains athletes to succeed at the highest levels.
Upon hearing of his appointment, Kim expressed his desire to help guide the National Team to further success on the international stage, above all, qualifying for the London Olympic Games and winning gold in 2012.
