Congressman Gerry Connolly is obviously speaking with his constituents in Prince William County.
The influx of federal dollars coming to Prince William proves that he is responding to constituents’ concerns promptly and with results. Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, that is the type of
representative you want in Washington.
I am sure the first thing Congressman Connolly heard in Prince William is that our traffic congestion is some of the worst in the country, with the Bristow commute coming in as the worst. The second
thing he probably noticed was the pride we take in our education system. So what did he do when he saw significant county budget shortfalls for transportation and education?
He responded promptly and with results. Prince William Public Schools will benefit greatly from the $64 million he secured in education support. I am sure PWC teachers have an appreciation for how
much this funding means to county class size.
The list of transportation and infrastructure investment is almost endless. I for one am thankful for the study he initiated on Metro to Woodbridge and the money coming from the Recovery Act for our
roads, trains and buses.
