» Today, 7 p.m., Needles and Hooks crafts at the Chinn Park Regional Library. Adults are invited to come and have fun sharing the craft and meeting others who also enjoy needle work. For more information about this free adult program, call 703-792-4800 or visit www.pwcgov.org/library.

» Today, vote for Your Favorite Author at the Chinn Park Regional Library. Children of all ages can cast their ballot for their favorite author. Pick up a ballot at the Information Desk. Each child will receive a sticker that says "Vote for Books" and a "Vote for Books" bookmark. This is a free, drop-in family program. No registration is required.

» Friday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Toddlers/Kids Nite Out at Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center for ages 3-12. Dinner and games included. The fee is $15 per child.

» Saturday, doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon begins at 12:15 p.m., the Woodbridge Woman's Club holds its 45th annual fashion show, "We've Come a Long Way," and luncheon at Westminster at Lake Ridge. Fashions from Details of Occoquan will be featured. The fashion show is the club's major fund-raising event. Proceeds are used to provide scholarships to students selected from the six high schools in Woodbridge. To date, the club has awarded approximately $70,000 in scholarships. Tickets are available for $35 and may be obtained from Phyllis Zimmerman at 703-590-8580.

» Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Occoquan Farmers Market will be held at the end of Mill Street underneath the Va. 123 bridge.

» Nov. 10, 7 p.m., Occoquan Town Council meets at the Occoquan Town Hall.
