Roberto Aguilar tells the News & Messenger he last saw his stepson, Quirinius Williams, at dinner Sunday night. He said he wasn't aware his stepson knew the girl involved in Monday night's apparent murder-suicide.

Tuesday 9:45 a.m. update:

Police have identified two Forest Park High School students killed Monday night in an apparent murder-suicide.

Police said Desiree M. Patrick, 17, of Triangle, and Quirinius S. Williams, 18, of 5319 Daybreak Lane in Woodbridge, were both found dead inside Patrick’s home at 3902 Oakdale Circle in Triangle about 5 p.m.

Police said Patrick’s father came home and found the two inside the girl’s bedroom and then called police.

Police have not said who pulled the trigger on the murder weapon nor have they offered any motive for the crime.

Classes are not in session at Forest Park High School today due to statewide elections, however, Prince William County Public Schools spokesman said the building is open today for mourners.

Original story posted Monday night:

Two Forest Park High School students are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Triangle on Monday night.

The father of a 17-year-old girl returned to his home in the 3900 block of Oakdale Circle about 5 p.m. and found his daughter and her 18-year-old boyfriend from Woodbridge dead on her bedroom floor. Both suffered fatal gunshot wounds, said Prince William police Maj. Raymond Colgan.

The girl’s room was an attic converted into a bedroom.

"The door to the room is an attic door that you have to pull down, and father saw that it was open, and the stairs into the attic room were down," said Colgan.

Police declined to give the victims' names Monday. A news conference is planned for Tuesday where additional information is expected to be released.

Investigators are in the process of notifying family members as well as the school, where classes are canceled Tuesday because of the statewide election, said Colgan.

Colgan did not say who pulled the trigger. Police are still trying to determine a motive.

"Right now our investigators are still inside the home ... we just don’t know what happened," Colgan said Monday night.

After the 911 call, police quickly cordoned off the area with yellow crime scene tape.

Neighbors gathered as detectives arrived.

"I see the girl get off the bus everyday. She normally stands in front of her house and talks with her friends," said 21-year-old Corey Ferguson, who lives on the same street.

Lana Woolfry said the girl lived at the home with her father for about two years, adding they moved there after her parents' divorce.

"We would see her come outside and cut the grass from time to time, but she was nice, quite. She kind of kept to herself," said Woolfry.

A large American flag hangs outside the front door of the home. Neighbors said the girl’s father works for the federal government.
