Funeral for fallen DEA agent taking place at Quantico

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Expect traffic delays as a funeral procession for DEA Special Agent Michael E. Weston makes its way to Quantico Marine Corps Base this afternoon.

Police officers are stationed at overpasses and intersections throughout Woodbridge, Triangle and Quantico.

Weston, 37, was one of three DEA agents killed in a helicopter crash last month following a firefight with drug traffickers in Afghanistan. The Washington, D.C. resident has been with the DEA since 2003, arrived in Kabul in August.

Michael, who married his wife, Cindy, in May, served several tours of duty in Iraq and other war zones as a Marine major and then joined the DEA.

When his parents met President Obama they told him that their son had gone to Harvard Law School as he had done.
