Eighteen-year-old Quirinius Williams was preparing to apply to the Juilliard School of Performing Arts. Now his family is preparing to bury him.
Williams and 17-year-old classmate Desiree Patrick died of gunshot wounds Monday in what police called a suicide pact. The two were seniors at Forest Park High School.
A funeral service is set for Friday at the Miller Funeral Home chapel in Woodbridge, and a burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. Williams' parents -- Michelle Aguilar and Dennis Williams -- both served in the U.S. Army.
In his obituary, Williams' family writes of his love of music and his desire to attend Juilliard.
"Quirinius was a very gifted child who had studied classical music since he was 5 years old," his family wrote. "He was often referred to as the next Beethoven."
Police have not commented on a motive behind the suicides of Williams and Patrick. The two were found in the bedroom of Patrick's Triangle home about 5 p.m. Monday.
Patrick had moved from Stafford to Triangle with her father about a year ago, following her parents' divorce. A funeral service was held Friday at Covenant Funeral Home and she, too, was buried at Quantico National Cemetery.
Patrick is survived by her parents, two brothers, a sister and both sets of her grandparents.
Quirinius leaves behind six brothers and sisters, along with his parents and stepfather. He was preceded in death by his 4-year-old sister, Briana Aguilar.
His family described him as kind, full of energy and compassionate.
Williams' family will receive friends Thursday at Miller Funeral Home on Golansky Boulevard from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. His funeral begins at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
