Dear Lane Ranger,
The condition of the pavement at Dale Boulevard and Minnieville Road in Dale City is not safe, especially when it comes to breaking. Is anyone doing anything to address this?

Bill,
It will take a drill to determine what may be the cause of the poor pavement, but VDOT spokeswoman Jennifer McCord said engineers are working on the problem.
"It needs more than just standard repaving -- [the engineers] suspect the material below the surface may need reconstructing," said McCord.
The agency plans to drill into the road surface in the near future to determine what the long term fix could be, and how much the fix will cost. McCord also said the agency will then need to solicit funding to fix the problem.
In the meantime, she said, VDOT will continue to monitor and repair any safety issues on the stretch of road.
