Texas Hold 'em for charity
The Montclair Lions "Winter Classic 2010" charity Texas Hold 'em tournament will be Feb. 20 at the Dumfries-Triangle Fire and Rescue 3R, at 3800 Graham Park Rd. in Dumfries.
The past Texas Hold 'em events have been legally operated, well-supported and have benefited local charities and families in need. The last event was special and personal. Mackenzie Lemn, the 14-month-old granddaughter of Lion David Marr, had suffered a total failure of her liver and required a liver transplant. The $9,000 raised has gone a long way to helping this child recover and live a normal life. Earlier events have helped sponsor college scholarships; meet sight and hearing needs of our community; and support the outfitting of the Dumfries women and children's shelter.
The Lions are looking for businesses that would be willing to be a table sponsor ($100 plus a prize worth $50 or more), which includes a player seat at their table, a place to set up a display table at the event and recognition in the program and press releases. Potential prize sponsors are also encouraged to e-mail the Lions at Montclair_Lions.texas. hold_em@verizon.net.
Send your registration donations to Montclair Lions Club, P.O. Box 246, Dumfries, VA 22026, or contact any one of the Montclair Lions for tickets.
