Marshall stands for area values

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The liberal media often sends us a message that social issues are of little if any importance at all. Before the election, the News & Messenger endorsed John Bell and told us Bob Marshall should go because he cares mainly about social issues which has “restricted his influence.”

Outspent 5 to 1, Bob Marshall won by a landslide and spent only $90,000 of the $155,000 he raised — his opponent spent $480,000 of $550,000 he raised. This is very significant and speaks a lot about Marshall’s popularity among the voters.

With his great mind and intellect and his moral and value system in unison with the majority of Virginia, I am convinced that Bob Marshall belongs at the U.S. Senate.

On top of his passionate stand for life, the authoring of the gruesome partial-birth abortion ban, the one man/one woman Marriage Amendment Bill, the defense of the national motto etc., Marshall has done much on different levels serving and representing the true values and interests of his constituents.

Marshall has always stood for small government and low taxes — he took the fight against unconstitutional taxation to the Virginia Supreme Court (on his own dime as far as I know) and won 7-0.

A man of principle, Marshall stood against his own Republican party’s new rules which would allow subcommittees secret votes to reject legislation. Recently Marshall stood against new regulations on sewer systems which would have cost the residents hundreds of dollars annually.

This is not all Marshall has done for his constituents, but I would like to ask everyone this question:

If certain candidates do not get it right when it comes to moral issues, how could you expect them to get it right on all other issues if elected?
