I know they’re just the comics. There is a lot of important stuff in the News and Messenger that I need to see as a resident of this community, and I appreciate the paper’s efforts in getting that information to me. But, not only is this the second time in recent memory that a comic strip has been scrambled, but this time it happened to two on the same day!
There are many life lessons to be learned by reading the comics — lessons about relationships, work and community, even politics. I just think the job should be taken more seriously with proofreading as part of the process. And anyway, I get the feeling this has been more prevalent since you moved your production process to combine it with other publications. Is your staff overworked? Management should look into this.
