Little Forest Baptist hosts music awards

Little Forest Baptist Church will host the Northern Virginia Area Inspirational Gospel Music Awards today at 7 p.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 13020 Telegraph Road, Woodbridge. This year's honoree is Johnny Parker, author, speaker, consultant and life coach for the Washington Redskins. The event will include performances by Kofi and Crown of Glory, Christopher Page and the Dream Keeper's Ensemble, Leonard Wicker and Robert Pop Middleton Male Chorus of Ebenezer, James Gear and Company and more. The IGA is going to be a night of praise and worship. Tickets are on sale at www.musiq4life.org or at the door.

Proceeds benefit the Musiq four Life Scholarship and Little Forest Baptist Church Christian Ex-pansion. All ticket purchases are tax-deductible.

Neabsco Baptist hosts New York City trip

The Neabsco Baptist Church Pastor's Aid Ministry will host its annual day of fun and fel-lowship in the Big Apple today. Attendees will travel via luxury motor coach operated by Priority Tours.

The cost is $55 per ticket and includes a continental breakfast.

Mount Olive Baptist hosts gospel concert

Mount Olive Baptist Church to host the 5th annual College Gospel Concert on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Freedom High School, Woodbridge. Vendor booths will be open for sales starting at noon.

Old Bridge UMC celebrates Veterans

Old Bridge United Methodist Church will celebrate Veterans Day on Sunday at both the 8:30 a.m. traditional service and 11 a.m. contemporary service. Capt. A.J. Gunther, chaplain U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Lee, will bring the message of Celebrating God's Blessings: The Bless-ings of a Soldier." All active duty and retired military are encouraged to wear their uniforms to be recognized and honored.

Children's Choir performs at Grace UMC

The Hope for Africa Children's Choir, comprised of at risk children from the nation of Uganda, will be performing at Grace United Methodist Church on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

These 22 children, ages 6 to 12, will be joining us from the Orphans and Vulnerable Chil-dren's Ministry of the East African Conference of the United Methodist Church. The com-munity is invited to come and enjoy an energizing performance which will benefit this important ministry.

Admission is free, and an opportunity to make a free will offering will be provided.

Pohick Church hosts Christmas Mart

Pohick Church, 9301 Richmond Highway in Lorton, hosts its Annual Christmas Mart on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Presented by the women of Pohick, the Christmas Mart features handmade arts and crafts, jew-elry, baked goods, frozen casseroles, outside vendors, consignment items and "Attic Treasures." The Christmas Mart also offers an optional holiday

luncheon served by ladies in colonial costume with seatings at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.

Admission to the

Christmas Mart is free and the event is open to the public.

St. Paul hosts Holiday House on Nov. 21

St. Paul's Holiday House will be held Nov. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stroll through rooms of St. Paul's charming Rectory house and experience the flavor of the holidays through tasty refreshments and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Ebenezer Baptist announces events

» Nov. 21, 1 to 4 p.m. Senior Citizens (Golden Eagles) Honors Day Dinner. Theme: "Golden Leaves of Autumn." Free dinner and lots of fun. All seniors 60 and older are invited to come. Poems, dancers, songs, etc. presented. Seniors are welcome to participate in the program.

Wailing Women hosts third Saturday service

Wailing Women Ministries announces worship services on Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Spirit of Truth Ministries with Pastor and First Lady Brown. The guest speaker will be Prophetess Trudy. Wailing Women Ministries holds their services the third Saturday of each month.

Grace Lutheran to host Thanksgiving dinner

Grace Lutheran Church at 1601 Prince Willliam Parkway will hold its sixth annual free Thanksgiv-ing Dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26. This year it will have a Bilingual Multicultural Service of Thanksgiving at 10:30 a.m. with the meal to follow from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to join the church for a wonderful day of food and fellowship. Thrivent Financial helps support this event.

School of Music teaches local students

Six music instructors teach a variety of musical instruments on weekday afternoons and evenings at Manassas Baptist Church.

Children, youth and adults receive private instruction from Alan Webb, Edward St. John, Bill Zsembery, Gerald Foukes, Mary Garrahan and Becky Rumbaugh. Instruments they teach in-clude: guitar, flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, beginning trumpet, violin, cello and pi-ano.

Lord's Pantry at St. Paul UMC needs items

The Lord's Pantry, a non-profit outreach mission of St. Paul United Methodist Church pro-viding food and other necessary items to low-income individuals and families in the Woodbridge, Lake Ridge and Dale City areas, is in need of:

n Non-perishable boxed and canned goods

n Paper products (plates, sups, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)

n Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, shampoo, etc.)

n Laundry and cleaning supplies

n Disposable diapers

Items can be dropped off Thursdays between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Lord's Pantry (aka The Bubb House) 1334 G St., Woodbridge.

Academic Enrichment (tutoring) all year long

The ministry offers inspirational prayer, homework assistance, help with assignments and one-on-one tutoring. Tutoring is available to Ebenezer Baptist Church members and the commu-nity.

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. third floor, room 311.

Although there is no charge for tutoring, EBC asks if parent(s) would be willing to volunteer two hours of time in support of the ministry or any one of EBC's other ministries.
