Dear Lane Ranger,
Does VDOT plan to erect a signal light at the intersection of Piney Branch Lane and Wellington Road in Manassas? It is very difficult to turn onto Wellington from Piney Branch?

Engineers at VDOT have reviewed the intersection and they determined the current volume of traffic that passes through there does not meet the standard for installing a traffic signal. A signal would also adversely affect the traffic flow on Wellington Road, said VDOT spokeswoman Jennifer McCord. One good point McCord pointed out, the rate of traffic crashes at the intersection has decreased, noting just one reported there in the past three years. "That is another factor our engineers track," said McCord.
At the time of the evaluation, McCord said, crews placed markings to delineate the two outbound lanes (one through/left lane and one right lane).
