LETTER: At the mercy of strangers

»  Comments | Post a Comment

President Obama is correct in his statement for which he is criticized by Republicans. Paraphrasing: “The young with incurable illnesses and the elderly must die to conserve resources.”

If you have health insurance, it will become unaffordable, and there will be a “Death Panel.” If the government “controls” our health care, everyone’s taxes will increase to 50 percent at minimum, and there
will still be a “Death Panel.”

Most of Europe is proof. So, how is a free person to avoid these “Death Panels?”

First you must choose what your “priorities” are. Then you must have the “will power” to stick to those priorities and live with whatever your choices provide you. Without these two “fundamentals of life”
an “individual” can never be “free,” someone else will always have “control” of your life.

As “free” individuals, my wife and I have canceled our health insurance and we will save our money. If we need that saved money for health care, we can choose for ourselves. Do we want to spend that
money to prolong our lives?

Do we want to leave that money to our family and/or others? Or maybe we will use that money to live our last days in the Bahamas.

But if we are foolish enough to have private or government health insurance forced upon us, we will be sorry. We will have no choice. We will be at the mercy of strangers.

Only a fool would allow their “life” to be “controlled” by strangers. Cancel your health insurance to put the health care industry back to market forces, and live free.
