A 25-year-old man has been charged in a crash that killed a Maryland resident Tuesday near Manassas.

Prince William County police on Wednesday arrested Roland Leevi Harris Jr., of 9417 Westmoreland Ave. in the Manassas area, said department spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.

Harris is charged with reckless driving, having defective equipment and driving on a suspended li-cense.

Tuesday's wreck took the life of 41-year-old Brian Cornelius Moore of 5405 Hamilton St., Apt. 6, in Hyattsville, Md.

Police said a 2008 Chevy Impala was traveling west on Williamson Boulevard near Linden Lake Plaza about 3:30 p.m. when the driver changed lanes and lost control, striking a 2006 Honda Civic going the other way.

Moore was a passenger in the Impala driven by Moore.

Harris is accused of speeding prior to the collision, Hernandez said.

He was being held on $10,000 bond and is due in court Jan. 6, she said.
