The Virginia Department of Transportation invites the public to attend and review recommendations for the U.S. 29 Corridor Blueprint today at Germanna Community College’s Daniel Technology Center.

The public meeting starts at 5 p.m. at 18121 Technology Drive.

The completed study will include the identification of short and long-range improvements, which transportation experts say, will improve safety and enhance mobility along the U.S. 29 corridor.

The blueprint will also include policy recommendations to ensure the continued viability of U.S. 29 as a major transportation corridor in the state.

U.S. 29 stretches from the North Carolina line through Culpeper and into Gainesville.

Representatives from VDOT, department of rail and public transportation and Parsons Transportation Group will be available to receive comments and provide information.

Comments may be submitted at the meeting to Joseph S. Springer.
