Police identify deceased pedestrian

Police have released the name of the man who was struck and killed on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge on Saturday night.

John Robert Thompson, 42, of no fixed address, was walking crossing Minnieville Road near the intersection of Smoketown Roads when he was struck by a 2000 Honda Passport, driven by a 17-year-old Woodbridge boy.

The man was not using a crosswalk and the boy was not charged in the incident, said Prince William police spokeswoman Erika Hernandez.
