- Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.: Project Mend-A-House will host its annual “Taste of the Town — Prince William County-Style” dinner at the VFW Post 1503. The suggested donation is $25. For reservations, call Ernestine Jenkins at 703-980-0892 or the Project Mend-A-House office at 703-792-7663. Tickets will also be sold at the door. VFW Post 1503 is located at 14631 Minnieville Road in Dale City.

- Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Rippon Lodge will hold its 7th Annual Harvest Festival. Enjoy crafts, performances, living history demonstrations, activities, games, food and music. Learn about local history through displays and living history. Admission is $5 per person; children younger than 2 are free. No reservations are required. For more information, call 703-499-9812. Rippon Lodge is located at 15520 Blackburn Road in Woodbridge.

- Saturday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week at the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Woodbridge. Join a ranger and ham radio operators to learn about bird migration and the world of ham radio. The entrance fee is $2 per car. Pets are prohibited. The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is located at 14050 Dawson Beach Road. For more information, call 703-490-4979.
