Grand opening festivities for Wellington Square Shopping Center, 9907 Wellington Road, Manassas, were held recently.
In celebration of the revitalization of the area near Grant and Wellington roads, the grand opening had community and family activities, including a moon bounce, face painting, free prizes and tickets, music, in-store samples and free popcorn.
This area of Manassas has suffered from economic malaise in recent years and the opening of the shopping center marks a milestone in the community’s effort to revitalize this section of Manassas.
Stores in the center include Dollar Store Plus, Wellington Market-Mundo Latino, China Star Restaurant, a coin-operated laundry and dry cleaners.
Totaling about 14,000 square feet, the center includes attractive design elements consistent with the look and feel of the neighborhood.
Gregory J. Williams and Jay Irdmusa, managing partners of Richmond Ave., LLC, oversaw the property development. Amax Construction of McLean was the general contractor for the property.
